The events of 2020 and early 2021 have challenged educators across the UK to an unprecedented level, but they have also shown the remarkable resilience and resourcefulness of people. Education authorities, higher education leaders, teachers, staff and parents have worked tirelessly to uphold the continuity of education and ensure that the prospects, dreams and ambitions of every student are not interrupted. The experience has, however, highlighted a digital divide between those students who have access to the devices, tools and connectivity to continue education remotely and those who do not.
